What we do

As a proud part of the Coldwater community, we love supporting our local farmers and making sure that top-notch meat makes its way to your table. It’s what we do best, and we’re excited to share it with you!

Processing

At Georgian Bay Meat Packers, we begin our meat processing by expertly cutting larger pieces into portions, suitable for various uses. Each piece is carefully inspected and prepared, ensuring it meets our high standards for quality and safety.

Vacuum Sealing

Once our meat has been expertly processed into the appropriate sized cuts—usually between 0.45 lbs and 1 lb, depending on the product—it's ready for vacuum sealing. We place each cut into our recyclable bags, which are then vacuum sealed to lock in freshness.

Packaging

Our meats are individually vacuum-sealed using recyclable plastic to maintain freshness and quality. These vacuum-sealed packages are then carefully placed into 5 lb boxes. For added efficiency and safety during transport, four of these boxes are grouped into a larger box, all made from recyclable materials. This method not only preserves the integrity of our products but also aligns with our environmental responsibilities.

Flash Freezing

After packaging, our meats are placed into an industrial-strength freezer for flash freezing, locking in taste, freshness, and flavour within minutes. This quick-freeze method preserves the meat’s quality and prevents ice crystal formation that can damage tissue integrity.

Are you open to the public?

Both locations are open to the public. Stayner location has a retail section in the store front. GB Coldwater location please follow the link to check out our new online butcher shop. Service is pick up only. Pick up days currently MON-THUR (8-4) / Fri 9-2. [Click Here]

When are you open?

Coldwater facility operates Monday to Thursday from 8 AM to 4 PM. We're here to assist you during these hours, so feel free to contact us with any inquiries or to schedule services.

Stayner facility operates Monday to Friday 8 AM to 5 PM and Saturday 8 AM to 3 PM.

What types of meat do you process?

We primarily process beef, chicken, and pork, but we also offer specialty products available upon request. Please reach out to us directly for more details or to discuss your specific needs.

I am a wholesaler/supplier; can I order meats directly from Georgian Bay Meat Packers?

Absolutely! We are happy to supply you with the specific cuts and quality your customers demand. Contact us to discuss your needs, and we’ll ensure you receive the premium products your business deserves.

Do you have food grade dog food?

We do not process dog food specifically but, we have many food grade meat items that are great for processing you own dog food that can be purchased in bulk. (ex chicken/beef/pork meat and bone products, chicken/beef/pork organ items (liver, heart,kidney)

Are you an abattoir?

No, we do not slaughter animals at this facility. For services related to that, please contact our Stayner Meat Packers Location at 705-428-3006.

I am a farmer; can you process my animals so that I can sell them?

Yes, our team of expert butchers is equipped to process your animals according to your specifications.
